Description: | | SUMMARY: The Associate Director Medical Information is responsible for the management of the interface between Medical Information and Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, M&S, Managed Care, Health Care Providers and the public, for all Ferring Pharmaceutical Inc products. The Associate Director Medical Information is responsible for the receipt, appropriate documentation, literature research, and responses to medical queries escalated from the FPI/ICS Intake Center, as well as, training and monitoring of Intake Center Medical Team members. The MIS must be articulate both verbally and in writing. The Associate Director Medical Information manages Medical Information Specialists, develops and maintains readily accessible bibliographies, standard verbal responses (SVRs), medical content letters (MCLs) and frequently asked questions (FAQs) on all Ferring products. This position requires advanced computer and writing skills, diplomacy, maturity, timely responses, management and articulate presentation skills, and a solid understanding of human physiology, with high degree of attention to detail. | Duties: | ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the Medical Information personnel and processes; write and update relevant, unbiased custom and standard response documents and product profiles for Ferring products to ensure information provided to customers represents the most current, complete and accurate information
Serve as expert in therapeutic areas covered by Ferring products and use expertise to influence appropriate decision making on medical matters
Develop/maintain up-to-date product bibliographies on all forms of publications and presentations, SVRs, MCLs, FAQs, and Slide Decks on Ferring products and disease states related to those products
Set the policies and directions for activities to be conducted by the FPI/ICS Intake Center and in-house product and disease training to ensure Ferring personnel are equipped to handle questions and responses associated with Ferring products
Critically evaluate published medical and scientific literature on Ferring and competitive products; review internal/external literature to stay abreast of current medical, market and competitive trends
Proficiently communicate information gathered and researched from various sources to appropriate internal functions and roles; serve as the pointperson for Medical Information on Ferring products
| Qualifications: | QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
PharmD, PhD or MD with a minimum of 5+ years pharmaceutical industry/management experience in medical information; preference given to candidates with clinical experience
Must possess an in-depth understanding of human physiology/pharmacology and integrative organ systems; advanced computer skills necessary
Bibliography of scientific/medical publications in referee journals
Demonstrated management and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
