Description: | Manage the subcontract manufacturing of all API (active pharmaceutical ingredients) or actives, and components used for FPI products, materials management and inventory control, production scheduling, logistics, process support services within manufacturing operations that are vital to the supply chain and to insure high levels of customer service and to establish and maintain a high level of GMP compliance. Also, manage the production and distribution of FPI products for the rest of the world.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage Production Planning and Inventory Control for actives, excipients, packaging and labeling supplies. Responsibilities include managing (1) the materials requirement planning (MRP) system; (2) the issuance of purchase orders of all actives, components, excipients, packaging and labeling supplies to support marketing and sales; (3) the control of levels of inventories to insure customer service within financial limits.
• Manage the scheduling of production, the schedule of products delivery(ies), the transportation of raw materials and components to the appropriate manufacturers of finished goods.
• Manage the specialized testing of key active ingredients.
• Manage the information, documentation and material flow to support in-line active production and testing. Track the status of all levels of production from raw materials through component deliveries. Act to insure the smooth flow and shipment of goods and inventories to support marketing and sales.
• Manage the distribution of FPI produced products throughout the rest of the world including Europe, Canada and Asia.
• Support Demand Planning
• Build collaborative relationships with Plants, Marketing and Distribution to support forecasts and product launches
Interactions: Interaction with Managers of Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Marketing. Extensive contact and communications with outside subcontractors and the distribution center.
Qualification requirements:
Education: B.A. or B.S., APIC Certification is desirable but not required.
Experience: 3 -5 years of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Materials Management, with a major pharmaceutical company. Cross experience in several of these areas would be a strong positive. An understanding and involvement with cGMP regulations is critical. Strong computer skills also required. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, team participation and high accountability.
