Description: | Job Summary: Responsible for the design, development, planning and execution of the District Manager development program. This individual will need to continually assess the current and emerging needs of the DM Candidate pool and District Managers to develop programs that lead to sustainable improvements in DM performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead the development, implementation and integration of the district manager development program to drive and strengthen the needs of the current and future organization
• Conduct on-going needs analyses by benchmarking management and leadership development training trends and make recommendations to key stakeholders
• Develop and infuse a core DM Competency model throughout the sales organization
• Prepare quarterly and year end updates on the District Manager development program and DM sales metrics to key stakeholders
• Partner effectively with HR colleagues in the design, development and execution of the district manager development program curriculum
• Provide strategic insight to Director of Sales Training, Business Unit leaders and Senior Director of HR on identifying and developing effective training programs to drive and strengthen our pipeline of future leaders and performance culture
• Responsible for managing one direct report (Training Coordinator)
• Manage and track all Management Development Candidates and District Managers training
• Manage the DM Development Training budget
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure all training initiatives are rolled out in a logical manner
• Required travel: 25-50%
Education and background requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Life Sciences, Business or Marketing required, or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience with 3+ years of successful district management experience required
• Demonstrated consistent solid business results: >50% of reps hitting sales goals in 2009
• Demonstrated results in developing direct reports to assume greater responsibilities within the organization
• Proven ability to effectively establish effective business relationships across all levels of the organization
• Excellent communicator with proven, solid leadership, interpersonal and presentation / facilitation skills
• Demonstrated strong work ethic, business and industry knowledge and a strong track record of managing complex projects and challenges
• Proven strategic thinker who has demonstrated the ability to proactively execute problem solving solutions
